For the last couple weeks I’ve been able to get my schedule back on days, which means I’ve been able to start walking home from work in addition to just walking there. But the walk home is killing me haha.
First of all, it’s about a 20 minute walk to work. Then I stand for about 8 hours at work with a 30 minute break to sit. Then I walk 20 minutes back home again.
But just to make it really fun, I have to walk up a fairly steep hill to get home. That is the part that is really causing my pain.
I’m hoping that my legs are going to eventually get used to the hill and stop complaining. I’ve been pretty stationary for the entire winter so there are certain muscles that haven’t had to work much over the last six months.
At this point, by the time I get home my legs are just done with standing. They are just aching right now as I lay in my bed. It’s actually quite sad because with the warm weather here now, I really want to go out for a walk and enjoy the season. But I really can’t walk any further once I’m home.
On the plus side, I hit my 10000 step goal for the first time during a work day! My activity tracker buzzed when I was almost home tonight to let me know I’ve made it.
