Valentine’s Day Meme: Day 20

Day 20- Most romantic movie you’ve seen? What made it romantic instead of just cheesy?

I hate these “Most Romantic” questions. It’s so hard for me to think of one specific item. All the romantic movies start running through my head and mash together causing me to not be able to think of any one item.

I do remember a scene in a movie though that I think it was so romantic. The movie is called August Rush staring Keri Russell and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. To summarize, the two meet one night, they separate, the girl gets pregnant, gets hit by a car, her father puts the baby up for adoption while the girl is in the hospital and she believes her child died. Eleven years later she finds out her child survived so she searches for him, meanwhile the boy starts looking for the girl. The two of them end up being brought together by their son by chance.

Ok, that is a really bad summary of the movie. But the reason I like it is because I believe in fate. I think that if two people are meant to be together, it doesn’t really matter what you do. When the time is right, you will be brought together in one way or another. I have believed this since I was 13 when I met who I claimed was my “soul mate”. I thought about him constantly for years after we met and just finally had to tell myself that if we were meant to be, that we would meet in the future when the time was right. That was pretty much the only way I was able to move on from him. Part of me still wonders if I will see him again one day in the future and I imagine what that meeting will look like.
