Brownie in a Mug

Details:
About a month or so ago I made a “cake in a mug” recipe and was disappointed with the taste. Today I decided I would do a search online for a “brownie in a mug” recipe and found this one at food.com. I didn’t really measure anything and hoped for the best. It was much tastier than my previous attempt.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons water
1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dash salt
4 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Directions:
In a coffee mug, add water, butter, vanilla and salt. Stir well. Add cocoa powder, stir well. Add sugar, stir well. Add flour, stir well. Microwave for 60 seconds. And there you have it, a brownie in less than two minutes. Eat it with a spoon but be careful because it will be hot.

  1. Hi Deanna! I’ve been wanting to try the Brownie/Cake in a mug ever since I learned them, thing is, I have not bought my microwave yet hahaha although, will really do once I have, it’s tempting and looks really yummy from my screen 😀

    1. @Ayel, I don’t think I would be able to survive without a microwave. I’m sure I use it every day. How do you survive?! haha.

      1. @Deanna, Haha! It’s been years, like 6 years I guess since my last use. Oh, I used twice or thrice this year, the one at work since I’m heating up my food. I survived good I guess haha. And if we or I need to heat food up, we re-heat it in the pan. Popcorn goes straight on pan too. But because of the cake in mug stuff I will have to buy one again. lol.

  2. I was pretty disappointed by a “cake in a mug” recipe I tried, but this brownie in a mug seems worth a try. Is this something that you’ll make again?

    1. @Louise, Definitely! It was really yummy. The challenge will be trying not to make it too often because it is not healthy at all.

  3. Need photo!! Both ideas sound yummy, glad the brownie one turned out good. Surprising the cake didn’t.

    1. @Julie, Yes, I will have to make it again soon and remember to take a picture before scarfing it down this time…haha.
