- [Website Woes](https://stubbornox.net/website-woes/): I’ve been trying to get my website updated again. But recently ran into a problem. I added a subdomain to play around on, but then the SubbornOx website started to redirect to the subdomain. I deleted the subdomain and then there was a database error. So I don’t really know what happened exactly, but long story short, there are a lot of errors on the website right now. Mainly pictures are missing, but if you find any other issues, please note that I am working on it.

We had been trying to get pregnant for just over a year and found out I was pregnant in November. This pregnancy has been more difficult than my last one so far. - [Gardening Success](https://stubbornox.net/gardening-success/): This year was my most successful gardening experience. Last year I tried to plant a bunch of food in my garden, but anytime something started to grow, the birds would eat the plant. This year I bought netting to put over the garden until the plants were able to establish themselves. In my garden box I planted watermelon, carrots, peas, corn, and pumpkin. I was so nervous that something would happen and we wouldn’t be able to go. I had barely any pain, thanks to the epidural. I would definitely go through labor again if it was as easy as mine was. What I was NOT prepared for was the recovery. They were checking my blood pressure, both of our temperatures, among other things I don’t even remember. I was given my baby either by my boyfriend or the nurses to feed anytime he was hungry. I had to keep drinking fluids to stay hydrated and so I could fill my bladder and pee. - [Baby is Measuring Small](https://stubbornox.net/baby-is-measuring-small/): I had another ultrasound last week to check on the baby’s growth. He is still measuring small while all the other numbers are still good. Today I had my follow up appointment with my doctor and he said baby is now in the 10th percentile for size, down from the 15th. I will be having another ultrasound next week on the 16th followed by an appointment at the hospital. I believe I will be having a Non-Stress Test done and depending on the results of the ultrasound and other tests they may induce me that day. That means I could […]
- [34 Weeks](https://stubbornox.net/34-weeks/): Yesterday I became 34 weeks pregnant. I had another ultrasound done. The ultrasound lady was pretty rough, pushing really hard on my body. The ultrasound pictures are getting harder to make out as I get further along in my pregnancy, which she said is normal. She took some measurements of the baby, checked the amount of amniotic fluid, and checked that the umbilical cord was still functioning well. He measured my belly which was measuring a couple weeks smaller than my actual 31 weeks. He also said that I’m hiding the baby which I thought was funny. He felt my stomach and said that he thinks the baby is still head down. I will be having a third ultrasound in a few weeks which will tell us if he actually is still head down or not. It was just a small party with four guests, but that worked for me as I don’t like entertaining in the first place. I did a little decorating with balloons and a welcome sign on the door. - [5th Prenatal Appointment](https://stubbornox.net/5th-prenatal-appointment/): On Thursday I had another prenatal doctor’s appointment. He went over the results of my ultrasound and the Gestational Diabetes Screening (GDS). Everything is still looking good. The baby was head down at the ultrasound. But I do worry that it may have changed since then. Either that day or the day after the baby did a lot of big movements and I swear he is in another position now. I think I get one more ultrasound later in the pregnancy and really hope that he is still head down. I also passed my GDS which was a relief. But […]
- [Gestational Diabetes Screen (GDS)](https://stubbornox.net/gestational-diabetes-screen-gds/): Today I had to have my GDS. To prepare I was told I had to fast for three hours beforehand and no junk food. I usually have a bagel and orange juice for breakfast but I was worried about the amount of sugar in them. So instead I had an egg and cheese on an english muffin and some water. I also needed to have a urine sample taken, so I did that first. Then for the GDS you have to drink an orange sugar drink. Next you have to wait one hour before they take your blood. I was […]
- [Second Ultrasound](https://stubbornox.net/second-ultrasound/): I just got home from my second ultrasound for this baby. To prepare, instead of drinking 4 cups I only needed to drink 2 cups. I thought that was so going to be so easy, but I couldn’t even finish the two cups. The baby kept moving around and I thought I would pee myself so I only had about 1.5 cups. I think it was still enough though. This ultrasound was very similar to the anatomy scan I had at 19 weeks. - [4th Prenatal Appointment](https://stubbornox.net/4th-prenatal-appointment/): Today (October 12) I am 24 weeks pregnant. I had my first appointment with my new doctor today. He was a very nice doctor. He works as part of a team with the hospital I plan to give birth in. What that means is he may or may not be the doctor that actually delivers my baby. The appointment was pretty quick and straight forward. They took my blood pressure and weight. They didn’t take a urine sample which was the first time since I started my prenatal appointments. - [Third Pre-Natal Appointment](https://stubbornox.net/third-pre-natal-appointment/): Today is September 14th and I just got home from my third prenatal appointment. My doctor told me that the ultrasound results showed that the baby is doing well. But it also indicated that I have a low-lying placenta. She said it could very likely move higher as I get bigger since I am still early in my pregnancy. If it stays low there is a risk of bleeding. Having a low-lying placenta also increases your chances of having a c-section. She has advised us not to have intercourse until my next appointment, which is on October 12. My boyfriend […]

To prepare for the scan they ask you to drink 1 liter of water and finish drinking one hour prior to your appointment. It’s so hard to not pee your pants. I only drank three cups instead of the four based on my previous ultrasound experiences. Thankfully she said my bladder was nice and full. I had my second prenatal appointment today which was pretty similar to the first one. I had the same experience with the toilet flushing on me during my urine test. This time I made sure I had to pee, but I am so bad at aiming my stream. I don’t know how other people do it but I seriously peed all over my hand and all over the cup. It didn’t really consist of much. We just talked a little bit about genetic screening for Down Syndrome and Spina Bifida which are optional scans you can have done. - [Christmas Vacation: Day Three](https://stubbornox.net/christmas-vacation-day-three/): I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day! Today I was woken up by my boyfriend around 7:30am. We got up and opened our gifts. One of the gifts I got for the boyfriend was a waffle maker so we tried it out for breakfast. After breakfast, we watched the movie Jack Frost. I talked to my family on the phone and on Skype after the movie. For most of the rest of the day I played Yoshi’s Woolly World, which was one of my gifts. I finished off the day with catching up on some youtube videos.
