Pillsbury Pizza Pops

As a BzzAgent I was sent a coupon to try out some new flavors of Pizza Pops for free. The new flavors are Kickinโ€™ Buffalo Chicken and Blazinโ€™ Beef Nacho. When I was selected for this campaign I was pretty freakin’ excited. It took me a while to actually find them in the store because they were sold out everywhere I looked!

I hadn’t had pizza pops in years. I used to eat them a lot when I was younger but never since moving out on my own. I was especially excited to try the Buffalo Chicken ones. They were a lot more spicy then I had expected them to be. But they were very tasty! The Blazin’ Beef Nacho sounded less appealing to me because it made of think of the nachos you buy from the movie theaters which have that processed cheese on them. They smelled good while they were cooking in the microwave but weren’t as spicy as the Buffalo Chicken ones. I wasn’t that impressed with the Nacho flavored Pizza Pops the first time. But the more that I eat them, the more they seem to grow on me.

I have found myself being lazy about cooking food since I bought the Pizza Pops and have been using them as my meals instead. This is not a good thing so I don’t plan on buying anymore Pizza Pops right now for the sake of my health.

Tell me about your Pizza Pops experiences? When was the last time you’ve had them? Which of the two flavors sound most appealing to you and why? Why do you or don’t you eat them currently?

  1. I’m not even sure what they are.. I think of like a lollipop but pizza ๐Ÿ˜€ I think I’d be more inclined to have the Buffalo Chicken, but mostly because I don’t like nachos

  2. I’ve never heard of them but from what you say they sound good. And i LOVE PIZZA so they must be good! wish they had that here, maybe they do I just need to look for it lol. ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. I love pizza pops. I can remember eating them as a kid. I still sometimes buy them as something to take to work for lunch. I have to say I have not tried either of those flavors. When it comes to pizza of any kind I am pretty much only a pepperoni fan. I remember one time at work I has something similar to a pizza pop and I took one bite, and of course it was too hot. I dropped it on a light lavender color blouse I was wearing, ruined the blouse. Luckly after I cleaned up a bit one of my co-workers gave me a sweater to put on, but I smelled like pepperoni pizza all day!

  4. I don’t think I have ever had Pizza Pops before…oh, wait – just Googled them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yep, I’ve had them before. I always have trouble with them, as I never know exactly how long to microwave them. I’d definitely be more interested in them, if they were actual popsicles. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I honestly don’t even know what a pizza pop is, we don’t have them here. *googles* Oh, like a small folded pizza? Looks pretty good ๐Ÿ™‚
I’d probably like the Buffalo Chicken one better, I’ve never been a fan of beef.

  6. I’ve never heard of these but I’m going to look for them in the store tomorrow. Keith and I get ourselves one new, fun thing a week so kind of spice up dinner time. I can totally see how they might make someone lazy with cooking though. I have fallen victim to Smart One’s meals before!

  7. Hello. I am so sorry for not returning comments immediately. I have been busy with the university that I think will go through until February (my graduation).

Awwwww pizza pops makes me remember that pizza pops I used to have in my country. And oh, lucky you for getting them for free. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. I had to look up what these were. :p It’s a weird name for them since they’re not actual pops, but then again, pot stickers aren’t stickers for pots & pans, either. :p The look more like calzones, but they still look and sound yummy. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. @Liz, They are similar to calzones. But I’m pretty sure they were around way longer than those new cake pop things. I think they must have called them Pizza Pops because you can just “pop” them into the microwave for a few minutes and then they’re ready to eat!
