Instead of cooking on low for 6-7 hours I cooked it on high for 4-5 hours. It turned out perfect. So easy to shred and so delicious! This is a great simple recipe and I will definitely make this one again in the future.

Candy Cane Fudge
Ingredients
2 (10 ounce) packages vanilla baking chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 1/2 cups crushed candy canes
1 dash red or green food coloring

Instructions
1. Line an 8 inch square baking pan with aluminum foil, and grease the foil.

2. Combine the vanilla chips and sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently until almost melted, remove from heat and continue to stir until smooth. When chips are completely melted, stir in the peppermint extract, food coloring, and candy canes.

3. Spread evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan. Chill for 2 hours, then cut into squares.

Comments
One tip, try to buy your peppermint extract not so close to Christmas haha. When I went to the store to buy it, it was the last bottle there! The hardest part of this recipe I think is figuring out how to crush the candy canes. It was a messy job and your hands get really sticky. Winston has this lead ball (like a giant marble) that we used to smash the candy canes with, but I don’t know what a normal person would use to do the job.

It was also difficult to stir the ingredients when they were in the pan because it gets pretty thick. That’s one reason why it’s good to have a big strong man around when you make this recipe (although I’m sure I could have done it if I really wanted to :P). The end result was good. It wasn’t overly pepperminty which was a good thing. It had a nice flavor to it. I took it to work and one of my co-workers said they don’t usually like peppermint but they ended up eating three pieces of the fudge! Just make sure that you cut the pieces pretty small because it’s hard to eat a lot of it at one time.

BBQ Chicken Calzones
Ingredients
4 slices bacon
1/2 small onion, chopped
3 cups shredded, cooked chicken breast meat
2/3 cup barbeque sauce
1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust dough
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2. Fry bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove from the pan to drain on paper towels; crumble.

3. Add the onion and shredded chicken to the hot bacon grease in the pan. Fry over medium heat until onion is tender. Stir in 1/3 cup of barbeque sauce, and remove from the heat. Mix in the cooked bacon.

4. Roll the pizza crust dough out onto a greased cookie sheet. Press out to an even thickness, and then cut in half. Divide the chicken mixture between the two pieces of dough, spreading on only half of each piece to within 1/2 inch of the edge. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the filling. Sprinkle the cheese and cilantro over the top. Fold the uncovered portion of dough over the filling, and press the edges together with a fork to seal.

5. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until browned to your liking. Cool for a few minutes, then cut each calzone in half. Each serving is half of a calzone. These can be served with additional barbeque sauce if you like.

Comments
This recipe took a little bit more preparation than some of the other recipes I made because I had to cook the bacon, cook the chicken, cut the vegetables, etc. But it was so worth it. This was my boyfriend’s favorite recipe out of all the ones I’ve made so far.

I made the pizza dough myself from scratch. I used the recipe that is on the Fleischmann’s Pizza Yeast bottle. So that took some time to prepare too. It was my first time making pizza dough but it was fun, and apparently I can make better pizza dough than my boyfriend. He likes to make me make the dough now when we have our pizza nights haha.

I didn’t use cilantro because I forget to buy some. I also didn’t have any paper towels so I wasn’t able to drain the bacon which resulted in the Calzones being a little more greasy, but it didn’t affect the taste besides maybe make it taste even better. The crust actually tasted a bit like it was from Pizza Hut. I don’t know if it was the bacon grease or because I greased the pan with butter, but I loved it! I would definitely make this recipe again in the future.

Gone away is the bluebird, Here to stay is a new bird He sings a love song, As we go along, Walking in a winter wonderland.
Here is another humorous song. Some people think it`s cruel to talk about their grandma being killed, but it`s funny if you are only kidding. Lyrics Grandma got run over by a reindeer walkin’ home from our house Christmas eve. You can say there’s no such thing as Santa. But as for me and Grandpa, we believe. She’d been drinkin’ too much egg nog. And we’d begged her not to go. But she’d forgot her medication, and she staggered out the door into the snow. When we found her Christmas mornin,’ at the scene of the attack. She had hoof prints on her forehead, And incriminatin’ Claus marks on her back. Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walkin’ home from our house Christmas eve. You can say there’s no such thing as Santa, but as for me and Grandpa, we believe. Now were all so proud of Grandpa. He’s been takin’ this so well. See him in there watchin’ football, drinkin’ beer and playin’ cards with cousin Belle. It’s not Christmas without Grandma. All the family dressed in black. And we just can’t help but wonder: Should we open up her gifts or send them back? You can say there’s no such thing as Santa.
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

She’d been drinkin’ too much egg nog.
And we’d begged her not to go.
But she’d forgot her medication,
and she staggered out the door into the snow.

When we found her Christmas mornin,’
at the scene of the attack.
She had hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminatin’ Claus marks on her back.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin’ home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Now were all so proud of Grandpa.
He’s been takin’ this so well.
See him in there watchin’ football,
drinkin’ beer and playin’ cards with cousin Belle.

It’s not Christmas without Grandma.
All the family dressed in black.
And we just can’t help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?
(Send them back)

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin’ home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Now the goose is on the table.
And the pudding made of fig.
And a blue and silver candle,
that would just have matched the hair in Grandma’s wig.

I’ve warned all my friends and neighbors.
“Better watch out for yourselves.”
They should never give a license,
to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin’ home from our house, Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(Sing it Grandpa)

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin’ home from our house, Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Merry Christmas

Lyrics
Santa Baby,
Just slip a sable under the tree
For me
Been an awful good girl
Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby,
A 54 convertible too
Light blue
I’ll wait up for you, dear
Santa baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the Fella’s that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be just as good
If you’ll check out my Christmas list

Santa Baby,
I want a yact and really that’s not
A lot
Been an angel all year
Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa Honey,
one little thing i really need
The deed
To a platinum mine
Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie,
Fill my stocking with a duplex
And checks
Sign your ‘x’ on the line
Santa cutie,
and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany’s
I really do believe in you
Let´s see if you believe in me

Santa Baby,
Forgot to mention one little thing
A ring
I don’t mean on the phone
Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry…tonight
