This month gave me a bike ride on Thanksgiving day, hanging out with some new people, our first visit to Ikea, a flight back to Nova Scotia for a wedding and a 2 year-old’s birthday and my first look at the mountains.
July was a busy month, as it usually is. July in Canada starts off with Canada Day which was beautiful again this year. Thanks to the nice weather we spent a lot of time walking around the city. I got to spend some time with my family at the summer home for a weekend which included boat rides, fishing, a birthday party and the beach. We discovered new treasures on the Halifax waterfront including a local celebrity and a dessert restaurant. We are slowing getting plans together for moving. I have been getting rid of my August shifts but I still won’t be leaving until September. I have my flight booked for September 10th (there were some cheap seats that day ) but Winston is probbaly leaving around August 18th. I have worked everyday for the last nine days and have three more days to go before I have a day off. On Tuesday my parents asked if I wanted to go on the Harbour Hopper with them. It was something I had talked about wanting to do for a few years now but we never got around to doing it. Things have been busy around here lately. When I haven’t been working I have been shopping or spending time with my family and friends. What a crazy few weeks. I was getting worried because I wasn’t getting many shifts at my part-time job and I wasn’t having any luck finding subbing jobs either. The festivities in Halifax have been continuing. We went to the Pride Parade and it was great. Last weekend was Natal Day (Halifax’s birthday) so we got to go to another parade which was okay and we went to some more fireworks. I was not impressed with these fireworks though. I had my first day at the new job yesterday and it went pretty well. I think the hardest part is going to be trying to find out where everything is located. The job fair that I went to was pretty good. It was better than the last one I went to a few of weeks ago. The exhibitors really wanted to talk to us because they really want us to come work at their schools. Many of the exhibitors were giving interviews to anyone who wanted one. I’m feeling behind in my school work again. I didn’t do any work this weekend because I was so busy with family and friends. I went home for the weekend.
