Productive Day

Today I was pretty productive both online and offline. On this website I added a new plugin and changed some other settings to hopefully stop the spam comments I’ve been getting over the last year or so, while keeping it easy for real people to comment. There is now a time limit before you can post, but if you’re actually reading the post you shouldn’t even notice it.

On my event blog I updated the list of upcoming events. I tried to find a way to turn my tweets and Facebook posts into blog posts but didn’t find any plugins that I really liked.

Today I started decorating for the holidays. I got the Christmas lights put up and some window decorations. Next week we will probably be putting up the tree. We were going to do it this weekend but we were too lazy the other day, and now there is an old mattress sitting in the living room that we need to get rid of. We bought a new mattress on Friday. Unfortunately the eco station was not open today.

We also worked on getting the house cleaned up (mainly the kitchen). I also planned out some meals I can make over the next couple months (and hopefully blog like I have in the past). I haven’t really been making meals very often since moving in with my boyfriend a year and a half ago.

I’m going to try to make two meals a week. It really depends on if I’m able to get two days off in a row every week going forward. Over the last few months I rarely got two days off in a row and it really kills your motivation because all you want to do is relax and play computer games or watch online videos.

I also completed the December schedule for my store and am feeling pretty good. I started to feel a calmness and lack of stress that I probably haven’t felt in about four years. I really hope I can maintain some sort of routine to keep this calm feeling for as long as possible

House Hunting

My boyfriend has decided that he wants to stop paying rent, and instead start paying a morgage. We’ve gone out a couple times to look at houses so far and have only found one that we’ve both really liked. Unfortunately someone else out bid us on it so we are back to the drawing board.

With the amount of money we can afford, we’re finding most of the houses are smaller than we want. For me, it’s all about the layout. Two houses can be the same size, but the layout can make one house feel a lot bigger.

If we don’t find something soon that we like, the search is going to take a break for the winter because we really don’t want to move when its cold. It’s not like were in a rush to find something so we will wait until we find the house that is right for us.
